Ghandruk loop trek, known as a shortest classic comfortable trek for families. As the trek doesn’t reach very high altitude, distances can be covered on a relaxed pace throughout and even children will enjoy this trek.  Ghandruk is a Nepali name given to the village, as the native Gurung community calls it Kond. It is one of the best and cleanest villages in the western region of Nepal with about 270 families. It is the second largest Gurung settlement in Nepal, the biggest one is Siklis. From Ghandruk you will be looking at an amazing view of South Annapurna, Gangapurna, Annapurna III, Hiuchuli, Machhapuchhare and many more. It is also a wonderful opportunity to get to know about the core of the Gurung community and the Gurung Museum that elaborates the history of their culture and lifestyle. The village is a beautiful cluster of closely spaced, south faced slate roofed houses, surrounded by neatly terraced field and fenced by outstanding views of the giant mountains. The sunrise and sunset are just breathtakingly beautiful along with a spectacular view of Rhododendron forest, birds, and glimpses of traditional village life. A basic attire depending on the season and having your own sleeping bag is always a good idea while trekking this region. As the lodges in this region have limited facilities, usage of hot water or such priorities is a subject of extra charge. The ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Project) has been successfully helpful in maintaining local economy and communal support in preserving its biodiversity since few decades. A trek of 3-4 days is a fair choice for anyone with a fair fitness level or limited timing.
